Lilian Vanvieldt

Board Chair

Lilian Vanvieldt is a 35-plus-year insurance industry veteran and longtime community activist who uses her experience, influence, and passion to bring about positive change. In April 2021, Lilian was named Alliant’s Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer (CDEIO). As the head of Alliant’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiative, Lilian leads a companywide effort to promote diversity and inclusion within Alliant and throughout the broader insurance industry through a focus on awareness, training, and mentoring. At the heart of this effort is Lilian’s longstanding commitment to expanding opportunities for career growth and advancement for individuals with diverse backgrounds and life experiences.

In addition to her role as CDEIO, Lilian continues to shine as one of the nation’s leading brokers in the education space. She leads the Alliant Kindergarten to Community College (K-14) Public Entity program and plays an influential role in setting the program’s national business strategy.

Lilian is a survivor of stage III breast cancer who currently serves on the board of the Susan G. Komen Leadership Foundation in San Diego and was that organization’s Honorary Breast Cancer Survivor of the Year in 2018 as well as their inaugural “pink big wig” in 2022. She uses her voice and influence to advocate for equality in access to health services for women of color and is an active spokesperson for breast cancer education and prevention.

Peter Carpenter

Secretary

As Chief Operating Officer of Alliant Insurance Services, Peter Carpenter is generally responsible for the company’s operations and directing its hiring strategy, which is dedicated to attracting the industry’s best and highest performing sales professionals. Peter has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry and joined Alliant in 2008 when it acquired ClearPoint, a Seattle-based employee benefits consulting firm that he co-founded and where he served as CEO. Prior to founding ClearPoint, Peter served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for a large regional insurance brokerage firm and as a group representative for Sun Life Insurance Company. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Colby College in Waterville, ME, where he majored in government and Spanish.

Ilene Anders

Treasurer

As Chief Financial Officer of Alliant Insurance Services, Ilene Anders oversees the company’s finance, accounting, IT, corporate real estate, and M&A integration teams. Ms. Anders is also the executive sponsor of All-In, Alliant’s employee resource group for the LGBTQ+ community and allies. Ms. Anders started her career in investment banking and corporate development with Prudential Volpe Technology Group, GMAC-RFC and was a consultant to various early-stage companies. She currently serves on multiple non-profit Boards and has also served as Executive Director of a non-profit equestrian therapy program in the past. Ilene holds a master’s degree in business from San Diego State University and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Boston University.
